I believe, in my case, the fuse blew because the BBUS (alarm sounder) was faulty it caused it to fail. It cannot do any harm to check it out. This I believe the fuse number refers to the facelift fusebox (which going by your profile image, looks like yours is).

I do recall though being at the fusebox, and finding the fuse was fine for what I was looking for at the time, so I pulled every fuse to check and found one that was blown. I cannot recall if it was for this problem or another problem, so if fuse 36 is OK, have a look at the other fuses to check.
Thanks clf, I'll have a look mate cheers

Don't know if you followed my recent problems with my remote not operating the central locking after a battery failure but it turned out to be a blown fuse on Fuse 14 which when changed sorted the problem.

I understand from the replies and advice I received from others that there are different types of fuseboxes so it may be a different number fuse in your car, Why not check the fuse layout in your handbook and have a look, it was a simple job to fix mine by replacing the 20amp fuse.

It is possible to get it to lock with the key blade, I have managed it on mine by re-wiring it, but it was tricky to find the correct wire in the loom and one of the loom headers had different connections from what is shown in RAVE. Also had to take the door off to do it.
