KV6 coolant leak from hose
Hi guys I pulled up on my drive today and found coolant leaking from this split hose. I'm hoping there's enough slack to cut the damaged bit off and reattach as I hear the modern replacements are nowhere near as good. With regards to topping the coolant up am I able to do it without refilling the whole system? Cheers

Not sure its the issue of modern stuff - i think it is generally MGR rubber hoses - see link below to Rimmers for a replacement. Also by the look of the photo the hose clip where it is leaking is a jubillee clip - many on here would advise not to use jubilees on MGR rubber hose but stick to the OEM MGR spring clip which the clip at the top of your photo appears to be.

Good observation about the jubilee clip
About refilling - try it as see, some V6s are nightmares to bleed, yet others don't even require the tank lifted (I've tried). Regards |

Ahhhh OK well I've cut it and reattached with that jubilee clip for now to get me back on the road but the hose is at a poor angle on top of the wrong clip so will look to replace them as soon as I can. For now is it just a case of opening the bleed screw, unbolt the tank to lift and start filling till it comes out the bleed hole, retighten and keep filling?

Hi Billy.
It seems the hose to the oil cooler is leaking, maybe because the jubilee clip as dug into it. use these clips below. or as stated the spring clip. Also try and trim the end of the hose so its not flared. example you need to pick the right size. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/153618553019 make sure you get the right size the one in the link may not be the right size , it is just an example. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221573755...r=522143408382
