Orange / Green SRS sensors
Anyone know if the later orange and green SRS sensors are interchangeable? Both have the same part number YDB000310 and physical shape, although the number on the side differs. I bought a replacement orange sensor as my T4 moaned, the wiring is good, but even the replacement seems dead. DMGRS have new replacement green sensors at a good price and I’ve got a package there in limbo due to their courier's problems.
Thought I'd ask Autoliv, but doesn't seem that easy even from here. Regards |

Update: Received the following from Mat at DMGRS, good perhaps for others to know:
The part number is the only thing that matters, if this is identical then these sensors will indeed be fine. The green / yellow colour change was just a plastic material change, the electronics are the same. Regards |

Thanks Steve, it's these green sensors https://www.dmgrs.co.uk/search?type=product&q=airbag which are new and well priced which according to Mat are interchangeable with the orange ones.
Sadly, Rimmer's site is getting to be more of an irritant than useful, so many parts not recognised, and these YDB000310 sensors aren't, takes you to a parking aid instead Keep well |

Hopefully (touch wood) all fixed. Actually it was one for my daughter’s ZS180. T4 reported an error on the left side impact sensor so I bought a s/h replacement from Lithuania which didn’t resolve things so started looking for a new orange one. Loads of new green ones and Mat has them at a good price. Checked the wiring to the sensor and surprised all good, even more convinced I needed a new one but one final test was changing right to left sensor and retesting with T4 expecting the fault to move - it didn’t and the SRS light went out. No corrosion on pins, perhaps I didn’t cycle through the ignition correctly first time to clear the fault properly. But happy days
Keep well. Ps. Buying even a s/h sensor from UK is stupidly expensive as the Sw. government levies a £6 handling charge on everything plus VAT, and that seller linked won’t post to Sweden, others cost £9.99 s/h plus £12.47 postage + handling charge + VAT. |
