Default Double din steering wheel controls

Hi lads after never managing to get the steering wheel controls working on my 75, I'm now absolutely determined to get them working on my new ZT with this android double din. Trawling the forum I found the following:

The ZT with a Kenwood unit has a different infra-red system, the steering wheel control cables, Blue/Purple and Black, go to an interface box bolted to a bracket behind the stereo, that the lead with the LED is also connected to.

So am I connecting key 1 and key 2 to these two wires or key 1 to blue/purple and key 2 to ground or is that black actually a ground anyway?

Cheers

In the Kenwood system, the Black cable is connected to Earth.

Brilliant - Key 1 to purple/blue, earth to earth, got steering wheel controls!! Well I've got volume and change tracks - can't map the mode button for some reason but I'm so elated at having the others I can do without it!
