Cool Classic Motor Show 2021 @ The NEC

Just wanted to remind folk who may not have seen the thread in another area of the forum that The Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show, with Discovery is back on this year after the COVID hiatus of 2020, and our club has been granted a stand once again.

This three day event runs from Friday 12th November to Sunday 14th, and for anyone who hasn't been before it's quite something.

The Lancaster Insurance Classic Motor Show, with Discovery, is the event not to be missed for any classic car owner,
collector, enthusiast, car club member or anyone with a passion for classic cars.
The show brings together the world’s largest gathering of 300 car and motorcycle clubs
with over 3,000 iconic classic and vintage cars and motorbikes on display across seven halls at Birmingham’s NEC.

As well as admiring these amazing vehicles, you'll have the opportunity to shop from the UK’s largest
indoor auto jumble and specialist traders to source parts and tools for your maintenance and restoration needs,
drive or buy your very own classic car from our outstanding range of dealers, enjoy the spectacle of live auctions,
talks from motoring celebrities, restoration demonstrations and much more.

This year the Owners Club can be found in Hall 4 on stand 4-465 along side many of the other Rover Car Clubs.

As well as displaying three members cars on the stand will have items available from the club shop for sale, including the brand new 2022 Owners Club Calendar at the discounted price of £10.00

We'll also have a live forum connection for anyone wishing to browse or even sign up. Bring along your VIN number and we can look up your car's build date too .

Our team will be on hand to help answer owners questions
about the cars and the Club and hopefully help spread the word
to all prospective new members visiting the stand

The NEC are offering participating clubs a member only discount for entry on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday,
when purchased in advance via their website,
do this before midnight on Thursday 11th November to qualify.

To take advantage of this offer please click Here to get the exclusive members only discount code

Hope to see you there

We have three cars this year to display, the first is this immaculate White Gold Rover 75 Connoisseur SE diesel tourer which was ordered new from the factory by club member Nobby back in 2002. It has still only covered 52,000 miles having been cherished and pampered for the last 20 years.

Cool

7 days to go now until the Classic Motor Show at the NEC and time to reveal the second car that will feature on our stand.

It belongs to LimoRog and is a very rare MG ZT-T 180 Sports Auto finished in Monogram Caledonian paint.

Default COVID Testing at the NEC

I hope we will see many of you coming to the show, though I appreciate for some the on going COVID-19 situation may be a concern.

The show organisers have taken safety very seriously as have we as stand exhibitors and will be following established good practice with the use of hand sanitizers and masks and social distancing where practical.

I'd like to reassure anyone thinking of coming that the organisers will be carrying out COVID checks on arrival for everybody, so people will need to show proof of a negative lateral flow test taken not less than 48 hours before arrival, on their phone via the NHS app.

There are other methods of gaining entry too and full details can be found on the NEC Classic Motor Show website page by clicking Here

At the end of the day, if we all take sensible precautions and follow the guidelines we can have a great show and enjoy getting back to the cars we have missed admiring over lockdown.

I got the email a couple of weeks back, but I've not been able to rejig what I'm doing that weekend - too many other concreete plans that have already had money spent. Shame, as that's one show I keep meaning to get to but haven't got around to yet. There's always next year!
