patrolman pete says he can see a gap. I have just pushed the top and bottom pieces together - now there is a smaller gap. Guess I have found the problem?? If I order the O ring as well as the clip do I have to separate this unit into two parts to fit the O ring? Oh, and is one clip enough?
Thanks

I've always used this image: https://the75andztclub.co.uk/forum/s...=101716&page=2. (thanks to poster) as a point of reference. If the ribs line up all is well (with a reservation for the O ring), not sure if yours do?

If the two parts line up correctly in this picture then it was wrong before. I have turned the two parts to line them up and they now seem to have locked together.
Will the fuel system prime itself? Thanks

Fit the seal into the tank opening first. the V shaped side of the seal goes against the tank side then the unit pushes it in firm to seal it. It needs to lock in tight enough to stop leaks.

Well I have just reassembled everything with the filter as in my last picture above. Still a non starter. Had enough at least for today. I am beginning to fall out with it!

You might need to add some more fuel. I work in breakdown and mostly they fire up okay but a couple of times I've had to top up the tank.
A good few years ago I was called out to a non start at a farm in the Durham Dales. This was the very same fault of driving home and a non start the next day. The gentleman took a photo of me doing the job at my request using a camera I kept in the van and after a road test he came back saying the car was driving better that it had done in a long time. In chatting he said his name was Mike and his son used to work for the BBC on Blue Peter but was moving onto Countryfile. I said when I was a kid I always wanted a Blue Peter badge and he smiles and said hang on a minute. He came out and gave me a Blue Peter badge and said I had earned it and his son was called Matt Baker. What a lovely family and jokingly said If I was passing would I be able to start his rusty old American car that was stuck in the grass ! |

The first thing I did Saturday Morning was to go get a can of petrol to put in just to satisfy myself that there was enough as it was low. Currently I am showing a range of 75 miles. I will go get some more tomorrow as it wont hurt.
