Nice enough day for early December here in Weymouth bright and sunny but the breeze has a nip to it. Been into town this morning for a few bits and found the Salvation Army band playing carols and the shops twinkling with Christmas lights it at all looks and feels rather festive.

Same here Steve, Right miserable day with horizontal rain. It's never stopped chucking it down since I got up first thing this morning, The house lights are still on as it's so dismal.

Been in touch with Virgin Media and there are problems at two locations in our area effecting TV & broadband, Right on cue mam was on the phone to go & "fix her telly" I said just switch it over to freeview for the time being until the engineers have sorted it out.

Horrendous weather here in Newquay. Hailstones and torrential rain. And gale force winds. Off out tonight to the CMGOC at the Quintrell Inn in Quintrell Downs. I’m driving as Allen has a trapped nerve in his leg and can barely walk.

Decisions decisions! Do I get the new TSW2 release of the DB G6 diesel shunter working the goods yards of Hagen & Wuppertal or wait for the ECML & a class 91 I don't think I could master the points or working at 10kph all the time.

Shunting with an 08/09 used to do my head in, passed the time by trying to wheelie it! With no wagons on open the throttle quickly, the power contactors didn't close but you could rev the engine, do that, let the engine revs build then return the throttle to the on position which closed the contactors and the thing would leap forward.

Just had an email from a cousin, one of our last remaining aunts passed away last night, just one left now. Mary used to be a school teacher before my uncle's photography business took off and never lost that old school teacher attitude, wouldn't dare disagree with her!
