Apart from checking for continuity at the washer pump this was just to supply and fit two front brake pipes. However it's not as simple as undoing the pipes at both ends as the battery and battery tray and other stuff needs removing to access the ABS pump.
Apart from that, brakes don't need anything doing, the brake pad wear light is a sensor or wiring problem (which I knew it was), the car passed the MOT two weeks ago and although it had four advisories, none were for brake wear. |

I don't really have facilities to do much work on cars, no undercover heated workshop or anything so I generally get a mechanic to do this sort of thing. It makes more sense for me to do overtime at work and pay garage costs out of that. I'd be interested in knowing how long the job takes you from start to finish for comparison.
I'm all in favour of DIY enthusiasts keeping their cars alive but we should also remember what happened to Lord Finchley. |

Well I for one had not heard of Lord Finchley.
I had visions of a "repair" on perhaps a (very) expensive car, that had escalated, or worse. Transpires that it's a 4 line poem. However, it illustrates how a simple item being replaced, can lead to worse: your demise.
