Default PCV How to?

I could swear last time I changed the PCV I followed a decent picture guide on here but can't seem to find it now. Am I imagining things? I think it may have been combined with a MAF change? Cheers

Just looked and all the pictures are there for me.
Straight forward job, so should be easy without pics if you have done it before.

Hi Billy.
That thread is now 9yrs old and most of the photos are missing due to PB steeling them when they took over Tinypic and closed it down, or i refused to be held to ransom by PB, i will one day try and replace them

How ever never mind here we go on your own thread.

First remove the engine cover three 8mm bolts use a socket set.
1

2

Next you remove the air ducting, three 10mm bolts or three screws.
3

Then you remove two screws on the two wings attached to the manifold.
4

With those removed you can now pull back on the duct, which will then be detached from the air filter cover.
5

Remove the duct from the car and engine bay put is safe with the engine cover.
6

The next item to remove is the air filter cover this is held on with five Allen key bolts, two at the rear and three on the top, start with the drivers side which is down the rear.
7

Next to the opposite side corner, again using an Allen key 5mm tool with an extension bar and socket, unless you have a long Allen set.
8

You can now undo the three top bolts all of them are captive so you should not lose any.
9

Lift off the air filter cover check the filter and change if need be, put is safe with the other engine items.
10

You now need to remove the injector loom first by removing the three torx bolts, a 5mm socket works great on these.
11

Next open the injector clips with a small screw driver, once open pull the clips from the injector.
12

Now the clips are released from the injectors lift it out of the way.
13

Put it behind the air filter housing, out of the way.
14

You now have full access to the PCV filter housing, using the same Allen key undo the four captive bolts.
15

Sometimes but all you can now tilt and lift the housing up from the engine.
16

You can then replace the filter or in my case swap it out as i have spare housings already set up.
17

You can see from the photo that mine was still quite clean and blue, i still changed it as my MOT was taking place in the next few days.
18

Refit the housing with its new filter.
19

20

Now refit the injector loom make sure the clips are pushed fully home, you should here them click into place.
21

Refit the three torx bolts holding the injector loom to the cam cover.
22

You can now fit the air filter cover, these can sometimes be awkward, and take ages to fit correctly or sometimes they fit within minutes.
23

24

Always start with the drivers side air filter bolt get it started, do not fully tighten as it will help with the others to line up.
25

Next move to the opposite corner, again do not fully tighten.
26

Now do the top three bolts.
27

You can now refit the air duct and engine cover unless you are ding some other work in the engine bay which requires them not to be fitted yet.

Hope this helps you and other members cheers Arctic.
