Default standard time 2006/75 washer moror replacement

G'Day Guys,
Im hoping someone can help me determine the standard time given to replace washer motor on Rover 75 Diesel sdn Auto 2005 model . Im in West Australia and there are only a handfull of 75's here so no one knows anything unless we stumble accross an english mechanic. Your assistance is appreciated. PAUL

Hi Paul.
personally i would say it should take no longer that 30 minutes maybe less depending on how you go about it.

Some may remove the wheel and peel back the wheel arch liner.

I myself would remove the front bumper, 10 minutes drain the washer bottle, fit new pump re-fil 10 minutes, refit bumper the other 10 minutes.

Of cause you could take longer by inspecting any wires that can chaff and cover them, also check anything else such as the intercooler O-rings.

Steve,
Pic #2 far left - clip on the wheel arch liner, they are about as durable as a chocolate poker.
My question, are these available anywhere or is there a recommended alternative and, are they 'handed' or is the N/S item just an inverted O/S? It doesn't do a great deal but it is there for a purpose.

Hi John.
Yes they are handed they clip onto a little plastic flap, which through age and being flimsy the clip gets rusty and the tend to just pull off the clip, when the bumper is removed, leaving the clip stuck to the wheel arch liner, as 9.9% of the time you can not undo them because of rust.

I did a mod on these way back but never really published it.

Shelf block cut and drilled to fit onto the plastic flap.

screw could be added through into the flap and then screw from wheel arch into the block.

Hopefully you get the picture no pun intended
