Default Has anyone used Willotts LTD for low mileage used engines?

Has anyone used Willotts LTD (www.willottslimited.com) and as found on eBay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/willotts20...p2047675.l2559) for 2nd hand engines.

I contacted them via eBay and asked

"Sorry to ask but do you have proof of the mileage? The person who will be paying for the engine will insist on seeing proof.
Thank you, Steve"

Their Reply

"Good morning,

Thank you for your enquiry. Unfortunately. we aren’t permitted to supply any paperwork relating to the history of a vehicle. However, you will receive the item invoice stating the mileage if this helps.

Kind regards

Willotts Limited"

Are they any good? Can I trust them?

Thanks, Steve.

I bought some parts a few years back and they were damaged and they refused to refund and their messaging style was not what I would expect from a vendor.

I got burnt on the same buying an engine system for my ZT 190 and when it was fitted by Lates who did a sterling job the crank was noisey all I was offered was send it back to Hull where the company was!
It was not the company you refer to but as Seancar and Trikey said go and
Listen to the engine before you buy it or get one of those to source one for you. It cost me £2.5k in the end as I bought new belts thermostats plugs water pumps oil blah blah and it made me ill with worry.
It’s the only way and I’ve learnt my lesson.

That is utter bollox - from this and the excellent feedback above - avoid like the plague and tell as many fellow enthusiasts to do so as you can.

when i looked around for a used engine for my rover 75 v6 2.5 petrol about 2yrs ago i came across these people.they had a low miler in stock for sale and when i asked for proof of milage was given the same bullsh$t. cant divulge details they said. however they did send me a photo of the speedo reading to confirm that the milage was genuine. the only thing was it showed the picture of the said milage sitting nicely on a diesel ipk that i recognised by the speedo and rev counter clocks. !! say no more ....
