Default Lots of smoke but not much go

Hi Guys
My 05 zt cdti has started billowing black smoke when under acceleration or load and is down on power but seems fine when just poodling along any ideas I suspect fueling but?? no warning lights on at all and fuel consumtion seems OK as well..

Inter cooler O-rings or a split pipe leading to the turbo more than likely.

O rings have been changed so should be OK but will have a check for split pipes..

Power loss and black smoke means a boost leak, normally.

Hi Ian. Although unlikely, I had the same problem and symptoms on mine last year. I stripped and rebuilt a lot of bits and pieces, had the synergy checked, replaced the \maf and lots more. Code reader kept saying inlet manifold pressure low. A week later I removed the ERG bypass to find the "washer" between the exhaust and the EGR had blow a small hole through. Relplaced the metal disc and no more problems.

Chrome skull caps, EGR cleaned (original housing), Mondeo lower mounting, 12V outlets in the armrest and tourer boot, cat fixed, working FBH, Lidl plenum covers, DD with reverse camera.New speakesr/Tweeters with MDF rings. wood dash, Memory leather seats, wooden finished steering and handbrake, Xenon headlights.

right angle pipe popped off the turbo on mine and that did cause ploooms black smoke and as you say loss of power.

OK guys thanks again for the ideas and info,if the fog lifts I'll get the nose off tonight and start exploring.
