Where it all began ...
Following a pm recently asking if i had any pics of my previous cars i found this among my fathers albums earlier today. My First Rover i bought from him when i was 18. Used it to commute between Norwich and Plymouth where i was based for quite a while. Little was i to know it would be the first of many from the marque. Sorry for pic quality but i had to take a snap of it with my phone. Will never forget the officer of the watch coming out to salute me when i pulled in to HMS Drake main gate for the first time as he assumed i must be an officer driving such a thing and how NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD- he was when he realised i wasn't
What was your first?

I used to take my dad's Rover V8 3500S to work (at 17)! The good thing was that the directors at the company would then let me drive the company directors cars, which included a Lancia Fulvia, Jaguar Mk 10, Rover 2000 and a Rover 3.5, much to the annoyance of some of the older surveyors who had to stick to the 1100's, Vivas and Escorts! He also had a Cortina 1500GT which I used (pic taken after a trip to Lido De Jesolo, pulling a caravan!).

My dad had a V8 sd1 .
I used it regularly at the age of 18 It was a great car . But sadly I was it's last driver not to the amusement of my late dad. This is how it ended. Sat inside . Stereo on full blast. Reversed very slowly out of the garage. Looking over my right shoulder. I stopped looked left and had a sinking feeling Where was the door ? It was open when I reversed . It folded back bending the A post. It was written off .
