Fit my compensator a couple of weeks ago now. Works a charm -handbrake is now better than new! A great mod. Thanks Steve!

My handbrake pulls up a lot in order to keep the thing parked, and it seems to bite on the left hand side more than the right. As I am mechanically inept, will this compensator make the handbrake work properly? And, is it easy to fit, as I am totally and utterly inept at mechanical matters? They do look rather spiffy.

Hi Matthew
Yes the SSC will make the handbrake work as it should, but you will have to adjust the rear brakes shoes as well as fitting the compensator, once you or a person whom will adjust and balance the rear shoes for you the handbrake will hold as it is supposed to and no longer stretch as it as done in the past, so one time fit, from then on yearly check to keep in good order the balance of the rear shoes cheers Arctic.

Thanks Steve for the service, now I have fitted one I reckon I could another in about an hour, it's just the carpet that's a pain, I almost took a knife to it. Doing the job meant I discovered a swimming pool in my rear footwell so will have to find leak quick.

Handbrake now much better and I hope to get the car to 250,000 miles.

Thumbs up Ssc

Thank you Steve for the very quick service provided, from a mechanical point of view the modified compensator is very neat and and a vast improvement over the original.
