Default Oil changed

Gave it a oil and filter change , long overdue...
Used the nice rubbery o rings supplied by artic, when taking the larger one off it snapped in 2 pieces.

And another pair of drop links.

Fitted a new reversing sensor. Put the wheel back on and tested, now the abs light is on 😠 Reverse lights work again though 😎

Hi Stan.
I have seen that a few times when servicing and changing the oil filter on members cars, you can just about make out the cracking on the middle, medium O-ring on this oil filter cap.
1

Swapped out for one with new O-rings on after smearing all the O-rings with some new oil.

4

All ways make sure the Large seal is in the right grove on the cap.

Hi steve
Yep it was the middle one , not the larger one.
Got my little pick on it and went to Lever it out of the groove and it just fell apart.
Better off doing that outside the housing I suppose.

Default Sun roof motor

I am pleased with my self. The PO had mullered the sunroof and had disabled it by removing the electric part of the motor, luckily leaving the manual drive part.
Bought a motor on e-bay and fitted it. I was very wary about the ‘set up’ procedure but luckily several posts about that here. After a couple of attempts needing the motor removing a couple of time to run it to the correct end stop it now all works perfectly. One touch open, one touch close and tilt.
I say perfectly. 99% perfect but......... see Sun Roof Adjustment I have just posted.

Default Cam sensor

KV6 warm start issues so try a new cam sensor.

What I actually found: In a truly shocking piece of design, the loom to the cam sensor clips into the bracket that holds the multiplug. When I say "clips", I mean "is stuffed into a slot".

The slot, over time, abrades through the loom sheath and into the wires shorting the cam sensor wiring. Solution: insulating tape and reroute the damned loom wiring so it doesn't rub on anything.

Finally got the Dorchester running, the engine swap has only taken eight months, a misfire on starting was down to the plug for injector 3 not being plugged in properly!

Then an oil cooler water pipe decided to become incontinent..

Changed that over and all is good, big thanks for to Mickyboy who sent me foc the power steering pipes which I had mislaid (Still can’t find them)

Then I was greeted with this, blooming Rovers, always something to do!!

Hi Andy.
As it been raining in your area then ? if so do you have a sunroof that as finally leaked in that much it's built up under the carpet and showed it's nasty head.

Either way it looks like you will have to have that carpet out to dry.

Gradual build up I reckon Steve, the rear sunroof drain was blocked on the drivers side, I suspect that to be the cause, I have cleaned it out for now, will do the correct mod on all four when time allows.

And yes, its going to be a carpet out job, at least the good weather will be here soon
