Help, please ?
I am a new member in Melbourne Australia. I recently purchased a tidy 75 Connesseur. I am struggling with a couple of issues. Hopefully someone can help me. Firstly to the dreaded heater matrix ... onto that thank to tips on this forum but can someone tell me where the bleed screw is? Sounds silly, I know, but I haven’t been able to locate it. Maybe a picture might help? Secondly, after removing the top panel covering the engine, there are two pipes to the left of the oil filler. The left and thicker of the two pipes goes to a t-junction. This junction is completely broken and needs replacement but can anyone please tell me it’s function? Thanks for your help

I don't fully understand the first part of your post, but there is a bleed screw on the big water pipe close to the battery. That bleed screw is made of plastic and often brittle, so proceed with care!
I would just bleed the thing by pressing the big top radiator pipe repeatedly and fill the expansion box as required. That said, it is entirely possible that you will have a bit of trapped air in the system, and that you will have to top up a couple of times. Always do so when the system is cold, and after the initial fill, observe the MAX mark, which is lower than most people think! The pipes under the QUAD CAM V6 cover is for breathing purposes. They take oily excess air/oil into the inlet manifold under vacuum. These pipes are made of plastic and are brittle (sounds familiar by now, eh?) and crack. Generally, be extremely aware of the cooling system until you know the car! It is one of the weaker spots on the car. Including the fan for the radiator. Being in Australia, there is an excellent support in the Rover clubs in the country. I strongly suggest you join one of them. It is worth it!

The breather pipe is item 3 on here : https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-GRID999773
Rimmers ship overseas Or you can remake the junction with any appropriate plumbing fitting or whatever else comes to hand . I have used a copper t-piece in the past .

Nothing wrong with copper - the old cars used to have loads of it.

Copper is just fine. It will also last the life of the car.---
PS. The central heating system in my house is all made of copper too and has a 50 year guarantee.... |

Not saying that copper is a bad idea, but do remember that the anti-freeze may react with metals it's not designed to work with. On which note: does anyone know if copper is safe with OAT?

He is not running a steam engine.
They are talking about the breather pipes. Not knowing it, but copper should be safe.

The copper T-piece was used on my car's breather pipe for about 3 years until I replaced it with a new part . When it was removed it was still in perfectly good condition and showed no ill effects ; in fact , it went back in my plumbing spares box
