Default Xtrons DD key illumination.

Should the keys remain illuminated after ignition on during daytime? They illuminate briefly on mine then go out. They will light up if I put the cars lights on but I'm sure they remained lit at all times before when the unit was in use.

Can someone with an Xtrons unit check for me please.

Just read that switching the cars lights on enables the front led's on the unit so seems all is correct and my memory was playing tricks

Think it depends on how the illumination is wired into the loom , on mine it's an ignition controlled live feed

The illumination wire on the Xtrons unit is the same wire that dims the display at night, so should be connected to 12v feed to headlights or sidelights. I presume your screen dimming doesn't work if it has a feed from the ignition?
What I can't understand is why the keys light briefly at ignition on and then go out, even when the cars lights are off.

Hi

the orange wire is normally the illumination wire so if your key illumination works it must be taken from somewhere else.Does your screen dim with the cars lights on?

Hi
It was a long time ago but I've just done a Google search for orange wire disconnection for Xtrons and it comes up with a link (sorry but it won't allow me to copy link pdf file)
I suppose it depends how the iso/link plug is wired

Regards
Steve
