Update
Just to let everyone know that I have paid the deposit for the shuttle this afternoon.
Did this over the counter in the bank so I have hard copy receipt, just in case anyone wants a copy.
Thanks Ian

I have been going to Germany for over 30 years. Always go Calais , Ostend,Brussels ring road, Straight along the E40 towards Koln, then down the 556 towards Bonn, and then Siegburg to Troisdorf. 480 miles from brum.Takes longer to get from brum to the shuttle, than Calais to Troisdorf.

Received confirmation today that tunnel deposit has been paid into the Tunnel Group account.
Balance is due by 12th June so no massive rush although one or two have already paid their balance to my account.
Please PM me when you have made the balance payment so that I can make sure that it has arrived safe and sound.
Ta Ian

A creature of habit, then, I see. It is obvious things have changed since my times of running with my truck when I had to consider customs at the various borders that could be used. Aachen Sud, being a motorway border was always a long job, Aachen Nord was much quicker and even Aachen town border was a better opportunity. I used to sometimes have to get the train from Koln, but if I had a road permit and was driving then I used to use the A61 down to Stuttgart, Munchen and the border with Austria at Bad Reichenhall. A terrible country to drive in for a trucker, so tended to avoid it if possible.

Yes. The Aachen border. Armed police/troops used to be in attendance when we first went through. Now it’s straight past there,.It is a cafe now. How things change.

Still waiting for a couple to respond so I'll give them a call tomorrow then I can get them sent off on Monday.

Hotel have also asked me for a card number ..
Obviously I'm a bit nervous about this as I'd be the one out of pocket if anyone fails to turn up. I've asked someone from the hotel to call me so we can chat it through but as yet no contact from them.. so we may have to pay before travel.
More info on this when I get it.
Cheers Ian
