It would be worth checking the off side to make sure the piston and caliper moved freely. Remember you will have added fresh grease on the near side, so it could theoretically move quicker and more.easily,and give.that grabbing effect.
It is always a good idea to do anything with brakes as axle sets, as the risk of what you are experiencing. It is not always needed or done, but it will maintain balance. It may be worth hunt out that other caliper to refurbish.then you could just swap it out without the struggle you had previously. Sent from my SM-A600FN using Tapatalk
