Normally I'd agree, however when she screamed "How dare you!" at people who were far older than her for apparently ruining her future, I got a trifle annoyed. It is after all people like Captain Tom Moore who risked their lives to make sure she HAD a future.

Fair enough, I get that. It still saddens me though

Default Raising money

Perhaps it is sad that a 99 year old feels the need but on this occasion we need to step back and look at things.
No health service anywhere is designed or capable of coping with things on this scale. It is easy to blame failings on successive governments of all sides for their funding of the NHS ( I am not political...can't stand the lot of them) but we have to understand that this is unprecedented. The scale of this is horrendous. Yes mistakes will have been made and some things are far from ideal but I honestly believe that those in charge both here in Scotland and the rest of the U.K. are doing their best. I am not a supporter of either. They are doing what they think is right given the advice they are being given.
Simple question is would anybody else in power be doing any better? I very much doubt it. Different difficulties and solutions perhaps but not any better. It has always struck me that it is very easy to find fault in others particularly when you are not responsible ( be that in government or industry)
All politicians should be doing all they can to assist. Now is not the time for fault finding. Does anybody believe our government are deliberately not getting enough PPE? Half the world is chasing the stuff. As for the press. They leave me speechless .
I hope with all my heart that we all get through this unscathed. Sad fact is we all will not.

Should it really be called NATIONAL WORLD HEALTH SERVICE, because it would appear we are treating all nationalities.

Rev.
A lot of the nurses who are on the front line are also from all over the world.

If one put items into a charity shop there is no expectation that that Charity's funding and payout will be criticized.

Here, Captain Tom has taken it on himself to say "thank you" to the NHS for their situation, and for the care he has recently received and hopefully raise some funds towards it. (keep any eye for those that will try to make mileage out of it)

I thank my lucky stars that I am physically and mentally able to have a say.

Default Happy Birthday Captain / Colonel Tom Moore

Chief fund raiser Tom Moore is honoured in several ways with an Honorary Rank of Colonel bestowed on him by the Queen, tons of birthday cards, special cake (presented to him in a way that he could not see all the adornments on the other side) and a flypast by a Spitfire and a Hurricane.
Well done to a really inspirational chap.

That flypast was brilliant, it was and always is a salute to those who fought and died alongside Captain Tom. As long as those Merlins roar they will all never be forgotten.

Sights and sounds of the flypast.

Brought a tear to my eye.
