Default Info/history from VIN?

Hi folks,

I know someone here has a way of getting information about the cars from the VIN, but I don't know if that also applies to cars on the Continent. Anyway, I am interested in this car - SARRJZLHPYM114674 - and wondered if I could possibly get some details, please? I'm pretty sure it's a Cowley car. Is that a positive or a negative, now?

Thanks,
Glenn

Prior to the final numbers at the end of the VIN, the letter "M" denotes Cowley.
"D" is for Longbridge.

So yours is a Cowley car.

Unfortunately the build data for the Cowley-built cars is mostly incomplete and your VIN belongs to those we have no information of.
I can however tell you that your car was built on either the 16th or 17th of August 1999, as it fits between two VINs for which we know the build dates, being the 16th and 17th respectively.

Wow that’s very good knowledge.

For my 53 plate tourer are you Abel to get the build I for as the website to get it doesn’t want to work.

Thank you, Scoubix! That makes sense as it shows a registered date of October 1999. It is a CDT Club sedan in what I think is Wedgewood Blue, smokestone (dark, but not black?) leather, walnut steering wheel and shift knob . It is not my car, yet, but I may well have a look at it when I get there in a couple of weeks (trip is a bit delayed).

Cheers,
Glenn

Hi Glenn!
It is a nice looking Wedgewood Blue early car!
It is with electric heated front leather seats. No memory, but doesn`t matter.
Has fog lights, walnut steering wheel and gear knob - so high-end Club at least.
I like it!
It is a bit pricey /1 800 €/, but I think that it is in a real mileage /223000/.
There always is bargaining
