Default Rover P6 Project

On friday i got a rover p6 doesn't have mirrors as stock and has seat belt as stock so it has everything doesn't need the mirrors so a rare model for having no mirrors but has seat belts its a 1971 mark 1 54000 miles from 1971 to 1978 when it was taken off the road i will get pictures when i get it home in a months time as its been stored at a farm at the moment

Good luck with this one, P6 projects can use up a whole lot of money, open the rear doors and check the wheel arch bulge for signs of rust, any bubbling in that area and you have a rather big job on your hands!

inner sills outer sills rear wing panel and engine unseizeing as been off the road since 28th may 1978

Andy you are more optimistic than me given the storage time - I was going to say open the rear doors and check the wheel arch bulges for any signs of metal.

On the plus side they are from an era of cars that are generally easy enough to work on - good luck with it.

Well put Mike, but yes, simple enough to do, but you normally have to start at one end and work your way through!!

Looking forward to the pictures in a months time, hope its not too far gone with the rust to have disappeared by then.

will see if the gearbox is jamed as it seems to be locked may get pictures tomorrow as visting it to do some work on it before it leaves the estate its been on for 40+ years

As Andy says can use up a lot of money but can be worth it in the end.

Potentially deep pockets required but worth it for the end result.
