Default Coronavirus, anyones holiday dashed?

My wifes holiday, I was going too but it was her holiday to the USA has for now been dashed, travel to USA not recommended. She only paid the balance a week or so ago. She is going to look into when she can cancel and get a refund but had been really excited about the trip to include the Grand Canyon.

Anyone else had their holiday dashed?

Default Madeira

Think Mum and Dad's holiday to Madeira in May won't happen.

They have more or less accepted that. Both being just 80 and 82 are obviously at risk in an aeroplane so possibly for the best

I am booked in with a pal to have a weekend at Silverstone Tour and May Airshow at Duxford. Using value Travelodge so no refund there for our two rooms for three nights.

Was really looking forward to that but safety first

The bigger disappointment will be my 10 days in July based at Tattershall in Lincolnshire and at each end IWM Duxford Flying Legends and the end weekend at RIAT at Fairford.
I can't see either going ahead given international flavour to them.

Having said that my disappointment is nothing to the serious heath issues some of us are likely to face.

Not me, but my brother and his wife have holidays booked for the US and Cyprus this year - both of which are unlikely to happen .

On a different note, a friend of mine estimates he's lost around £19K in the value of shares he's been investing in . He's not complaining though, and says he finds it rather exciting (the markets, not the virus) and is still up quite considerably on his original investments. He has always been canny with money so will no doubt come out smiling when the dust settles.

We can’t bear to watch the business news Cliff, as we lost £120K in the past few days on the stock market and since my return from London on 13 March, I have been told to go into self-quarantine for 14 days, what else? we have had to cancel our flights to South Africa on Wednesday. Am I allowed to have a moan

Some friends an I were off for a weekend in Berlin in a few weeks. Luckily we all only paid a deposit but we are all gutted as this has taken us years to arrange for us all to get weekend passes and have the time and money to do it.

I suppose we could still go as there are no restrictions at the moment but the way things are going we feel it better to cut our losses and hopefully can arrange it again once this is all over.

Our neighbours have just got back from Spain this afternoon, they feel they should self isolate but have not been told too.

I have a caravan due to open next weekend. I have a feeling that might be the only weekend I get for awhile, I suspect a lockdown soon.

Wink

I bet you're going to LOL...
We intended to go to... Iran next April!
Cancelled twice for the reasons you know.
Then we were keen to be diverted to Ouzbekhistan...
Ouzbekhistan closed its borders. Cancelled!
Postponed to next September same destination (the latter one indeed)... if we are still alive!
