Default COC certificate

Hello guys, I have to register my 75 in Italy because I moved here a few months ago and for that I need the COC certificate (certificate of conformity), otherwise I cannot register the car and the authorities told me that I can get this certificate from the manufacturer, but unfortunately, as we all know, there is no Rover manufacturer anymore. Does anyone know where I can get these? I looked a little on the Internet and if you want to buy them from the Internet it costs about 200-300 euros just for a piece of paper, and I find this utterly ridiculous. Maybe someone has been in this situation and can help me out.

The Rover 75 is 'new' enough and several companies around Europe can provide you one. So even without the manufacturer around this should be possible via mail and transfering a 'certain' amount. One example: https://www.eurococ.eu/en/certificate-of-conformity. Price wise it worth to shop around as you do.

Myself did not require it for registration of a 75 or MG ZT in Belgium as all cars in Europe are sold with a European approval, which is normally on your registration (EU something). Think all countries must now allow registration with the COC document, if it has the European COC approval and code. But with authorities you never know unfortunately.

But what is this really all about, I mean if my car is already registered in Germany then it's obvious that it complies with the technical requirements in Europe, why would I need the COC to register it in another european country then? And the point of this thread is to find a way not to pay the about 200 quid for a piece of paper

It’s in the rear of the later type hand books so I believe. I have seen it I’m sure a more informed member will add to what I say.

As far as I've read, those certificates in the handbooks are only certificates of conformity for some electrical devices in our cars that were later included, like that motion detector alarm mounted on the roof lining. The certificates of conformity to register a car are supposedly released for each particular VIN number and it includes the first registration date of your car, atleast that's what I've read...

I took my ZT-T, purchased new in Scotland, with me when we moved to Portugal from Scotland in 2009. Had to get a CoC as without it the Customs here just would not complete the matriculation process and we had only 90 days to comply. I recall that we HAD to pay about £200 for a copy of the original from a company in UK, had to grin and bear it I'm afraid. Can't put my hands on the document at the moment, to give you an address.

As far as I am aware this is the ONLY place to get a genuine CoC. They bought the rights from MGR Administrators .

Unfortunately you'll need to pay the fee - but I thought it was 150 Euros.

NO YOU DONT, I have registered two cars Rover 75, Rover 25 and both times I used the "E" number on the V5, But it does depend on where you go to register, Some departments can be a pain in the Bum

PS, I would not contemplate paying that amount for a poorly printed photo copy of a certificate that was made 20 years ago. They dont even have it square on the paper.
