Default TOAF not saving ECU code changes

Firstly, my ZT isn't identified as an MG in the codes - it just states <select>. When I do, it changes the last checksum digit as I'd expect but it won't save. I don't know if this is actually a problem or not.

Secondly, I similarly can update the configuration to show the car as now having cruise control, but again it won't save.

I've seen that members retrofitting KV6s with the wiring loom present, don't have to reconfigure to cruise, but I don't know if it matters on mine which didn't have the loom. It's not working in any case, and is throwing up an EPROM configuration error which makes me suspect it does.

Any clues? And I am aware of the pitfalls of TOAF. Thanks.

Dougie.

To make Cruise work correctly you have to change the ZCS coding. Column 6 in the SA string but then you need a new checksum digit on the end. I have no idea if TOAF can do that.

Evidence strongly suggests you're correct. As I mentioned, I've seen a few threads stating that it was not necessary on retrofits where the wiring loom already existed but no doubt that's irrelevant here. TOAF does change the checksum digit when the cruise option is selected but is unable to save it.

As you're conversant with ZCS coding, are there any general adverse effects of not having Rover or MG selected?

Thanks.

Yes, I am fully conversant with ZCS coding. Rover or MG is part of the GM string of coding. Column 4. No real adverse affects as far as I am aware. May create a conflict if you had a ZTT 190 because the 190 was only MG

Much appreciated. I see a T4 session in my future then.

If you ever happen to be passing Birmingham way, give me a shout and we can get your ZCS codes sorted out . I'd say to give around half an hour

I'm having the same problem.
So using toaf, can't we change Ecu ZCS codes and register?

Default 2.0 V6 to 2.5 V6

During my 2.0 V6 engine repair, the crank and piston rods were replaced.
It's now a 2.5 V6.
I want to change this situation with toaf, zcs codes and save it to ecu, it fails.
