Default Removing trim strip from boot lid on MK1 ZTT

Does this just pull off? its the trim strip that lines up with the ones on the bumper, just want to remove it to paint it as the lacquer is peeling?

Is this it?

If so, looks like it's push-clipped all along the length with lugs/pins going into Item 2.

I think they're the same as the ones on the saloon. If so, its best if you remove the rear bumper so its then easier to pull off. The clips are a part of the chrome finisher and are not separate. Although you may be able to prise them off without removing the bumper, it is probably safer and easier if you remove the bumper so that you can lightly ease the moulded clips inwards from the inside of the bumper so that it can come away without bending the chrome strip or risk snapping one of the clips.

Not true, the clips pass through the square loop that is part of the chrome finisher. As you can see the clip has a "spingy" location strip as part of the clip. Partly flatten and slide out. Do not at any cost try pulling the chrome finisher off without removing all clips.
