Default Nextbase 212 lite Dash Cam

Hi All.

As above, I have a Nextbase Dash Cam brand new, still in box with leads and instruction disc, it's the 212 lite model.

Also included is a Sandisk 16GB memory card with adapter.

Huge saving.....£55 including first class postage.

Hi chaps with the Next base dash cams, I looked them up on google and it is not clear if they have image stability anti shake as a feature or not. Would you happen to know? Please advise.

I have been doing research into dash cams, as I would like to have a setup for the 4x4 in Africa to record encounters with law enforcement, other motorists and the wild life.

I bought the Nextbase 212 as a first dashcam, initially to assess the value of having a dashcam, and see what the quality was like.
I have since upgraded to the 412, principally for the higher resolution and GPS , and it's impressive.
That is not to say the 212 isn't, it is, I was quite happy with the 212, I needed to get a new camera as the 212 was hardwired into the car.

I fitted a 212 into my sons car, a very capable unit.

They don’t have image stabilisation built in no. That’s generally because they have a 140° field of view so you would have to really give it some serious off roaring to make the footage unwatchable. You could always mount it on a gyro

Hi Alan,

Thank you for providing such a detailed answer. I bought a cheap anti-shake unbranded Chinese dash cam a C11, to try out and for what it is, it does the job with it’s inbuilt Electronic Image Stabilisation, but I know eventually it will stop working and get chucked. I have a gyro image stabiliser for DSLR’s, but it is too big for a car windscreen. I do a lot of off-road driving in Africa and one of the worst roads for camera shake to drive on, is the “washer board” gravelled and corrugated road.

Thank you everyone for your helpful replies.
