I'm a professional night-driver of twenty years standing & find the completely standard headlamps of my 75 perfectly acceptable.
I have toyed with the idea of trying different bulbs but just the other day topped up my spare bulb box with standard H7's again.

I do get irritated with inconsiderate/ignorant people driving round with badly set or illegal lighting. It's blindingly obvious when you can see the tops of trees in your beams that something is wrong.

Tried different night driving glasses and they all sacrifice detail. Helps to have a super clean windscreen and essential to look away and try to avoid being dazzled.
I’ll have a look later and see what exactly they are, but I use some safety glasses from work to combat overly bright lights. They gave them to us when the H&S department had a thing about the light given off by the new led lights. I think they said they’re supposed to reduce the amount of ‘blue light’ that gets through. They’re very handy when riding home on the bike when it’s dark.

Happy to pop a pair in the post if you want to try them.

That sounds very interesting so I'm definitely up for that. Sent a pm.

My fix was an obvious one really when you think about it.
Most of us have either refurbished the outer lens on the lamp units (I had mine done for me professionally), and a slight difference was noted. But we need to understand that dust and debris will get into the headlamp body eventually. The projector lamps are notably the worst ones for this.
I removed the lamps from the vehicle, removed the lenses and bulbs. Using glasses lens cleaning wipes, I cleaned inside the globe lens and the external side of the globe. The re-assembly was far easier than the strip down surgery, fitted the original bulbs and re-assembled the car. The difference was great and long lasting.
So in short, if you decide to clean something, clean all of it to make the best possible outcome.
Sounds like a plan!

Could you enlightenment me as to the best way to separate the front lens from the body?

Thanks
