I've been following a few projects on that site, one guy in particular TripleRich who is restoring a MKl Ford Granda coupe If you're into model railways he has a youtube channel too under the name Everard Junction & it's superb.

A worry in buying away from your area with MG is the experiences of MG owners getting warranty work done. I have seen posts, and I think one on this site, where owners took the cars in for repair to local dealers and were told to go away. We didn't sell you the car so we aren't fixing it. Mg themselves did not appear to be of any help in sorting it out just suggest other dealers to try. Put me off considering one from down south going for a little bit more than this.

If some dealers are selling them for a lot less than retail to shift them then does this show they are not selling well and they are getting desperate. May be a price drop is on the way.

Nice one Ronnie I pick my red excite model up on the 1st of February. I'm just in the middle of getting a BP chargemaster 7Kw wall box charger sorted out & hit a snag!!! One of the criteria besides having off road parking (which I've got plenty of) in the small print it says you also need modern house electrics, well this house was built just after the first world war & the electric system is antiquated to say the least with bakerlite fuse board & wired fuses.
We share an electricity cable with two other house which enters the house at ceiling height & I don't know how that will effect our neighbours

I've sent an array of pictures so they can remotely determine a quote over & above the £350 OLEV grant.
I doubt very much I'll qualify for the grant without spending a fortune (which I haven't got) but the 163 mile mixed driving range & around 200 mile range driving around town will be ample for our needs.

I'd only really need to charge it once or twice a month with the granny charger that comes with the car so no big worries if I don't get the 7Kw wall charger.

Not sure of delivery date but he didn't seem to think it would be long.

Should be ok for a home charger. There's the original grant plus I can apply for a £300 grant from Scottish government

The housing stock is what it is around here, I've been in half a dozen neighbours houses & they have the same outdated bakerlite household electrics, I think the guys at BP chargemaster are still laughing at the pictures I sent them of our household electrics Still waiting to hear back from them yet. Wont these cars be coming with the green number plate?
