Arrow The Lion Inn, Blakey Ridge

After the success of last year’s get together, there seems to be a lot of support to meet again at THE LION INN, BLAKEY RIDGE YO62 7LQ this year. Phil (Gatekeeper) and Jessica will be back in the UK, and Phil is arranging to be in North Yorkshire for this particular weekend, so we get a chance to show him some more Northern hospitality.
So, the details are:
  • Date: SUNDAY 7th SEPTEMBER
  • There is no need to pre-order any food - menus can be seen HERE
I suggest we follow the same pattern as Ronnie and Nigel used last year:
  • Meet at the layby at the top of Birk Brow, on the A171 just outside Guisborough (postcode TS12 3LD) – at, say, noon ?
  • Convoy across the Moors via Castleton to The Lion - plenty of time for a drink, a chat, photo opportunities etc. before lunch at 2.30pm (other option was 12.30 but that seemed a little early)

I’ll make a booking for lunch now for between 12 & 20 people (but not restricted to the higher number!) – The Inn have said I can confirm precise numbers a week before, but it would be useful to have an early indication of how many are interested.

For those who have never been to The Lion, it is a 16th Century moortop inn, with stunning views across the North Yorks Moors to Farndale & Rosedale. In the 63 years I have lived a few miles down the road, I have NEVER heard a bad report on the place
The drive across the Moors from Guisborough is pretty spectacular too!
As a bonus, for anyone who wishes to test their clutch - I can arrange an introduction to Rosedale Chimney Bank

Whilst I've posted this in the Yorkshire Section, we'd love to see some of our friends from further North (Geordies, Mackems etc. ) too, hence I've posted a second copy in the North East Section. We'd also be utterly delighted if some of the Southern Members made a trip 'oop North' - you will not be disappointed
PLEASE COULD NAMES BE ADDED TO THIS YORKSHIRE SECTION NOTICE ONLY - thanks!

THE LIST:

Gatekeeper + SWMBO
Reworht + SWMBO
Suzublu - but not eating
Pab
Fusilier
NigelOBB + SWMBO
Rumply + son + fiancé
Silvervixen + Bluejon
2Diesels
Bri + SWMBO
MarvinsMom & Kerry

Please be aware that this meet is not an official 75 & ZT Owners' Club meet and as such is not covered by the Club's public liability insurance. Also the Owners' Club take no responsibility for the meet in any way.

I love the Lion, bit miffed I cannot come, but it's the day after I pick up my new motorcycle. I'll might have a ride past though.
