Default Impact wrench recommendation

Morning - am after your thoughts & recommendations.

Would like to treat myself to a cordless impact wrench.

Enough power to shift most car nuts; used for my DIY use.

My research has confused me..... some makes seem to claim a certain amount of Nm but reviews seem to question the actual output. Prices vary greatly.

Your thoughts appreciated as to what you use.

ta Rog

If I may I'll join you on this one.

I've front suspension pinch bolts to remove and rear suspension lower bolts too so any recommendations shall be welcome.

I think it's Mickyboy who has a MAC corded one which I believe has never been beaten but I really need a cordless one.

Thanks in advance.

Andy.

cordless gives flexibility, take it to the middle of a field and it will work but my concern is battery life if used only 2 or 3 times a year.

I don't know what features are on offer but here is a suggestion:-
A brake so when you let the trigger go it stops quickly

Not battery but mains, I have https://www.machinemart.co.uk/p/clar...impact-wrench/
Large, Heavy, sockets do not fit properly in case but this may have been resolved.
Ok for the occasional use, would not recommend it for daily frequent use.
I don't even get it out to undo my wheel nuts, I got it only to undo my drive shaft to hub nuts but have undone a couple of other bolts but only a few

I can highly recommend the Milwaukee range, I have had one for 18 months and it never fails to undo even the most stubborn fixings.

Not cheap but you do get what you pay for.

I have a couple of Dewalts, the better & latest one being a DCK899P2 XR 18v. This kit comes with 2 x 5.0Ah XR batteries & charger.

Not cheap but I use it day in day out & I haven't found anything that it won't undo yet!

The batteries & charger can be used with other tools in the XR range too (up to 18v) so if you wanted to expand the range, you can buy just the bare tool.

Same here, brilliant bit of kit.

I also have a corded 1/2 inch drive clarke thing from machine mart, not much good. My son has the clarke li-ion clarke cordless, which is great for light jobs and nut running, it will struggle on correctly tightened alloy wheel bolts.

I could not find more power for the money than DEwalt and there is a brilliant DEwalt store in Shrewsbury, not too far from me.

One thing I forgot to say yesterday, you will also need to upgrade your sockets with one of these guns, I split several what I presumed were good quality but after a few goes it does show up the quality kit.

Should that be DCF (not DCK)?
