It was dogged by technical problems in its development and after the war production stopped. Morning Phil, always had a "soft spot" for the Typhoon, once it dropped into the ground attack role it was unequaled but because of its "idiosyncrasies" it never really had the recognition it deserved. The Napier Sabre engine was a beast, 24 cylinders, over 2000hp but it had its faults, namely trying to gas the pilot with carbon monoxide, the pilot had to use the oxygen mask from the moment the engine was started, it also had a habit of bursting into flames on start up if the carbs were overprimed! Occasionally they would backfire on start up and launch part of the air intake across the field!

Its not a cheap model but I'm very seriously tempted.
