Quite a few corrosion advisories on the MOT's over the last few years - but suppose all sortable with a view to keeping her long term

These are a stonking car, especially with RWD, BUT, they are not a daily driver as the seller claims to use it as..
They are a car that needs specialist knowledge and a deep wallet to keep maintained and roadworthy. These are not a car you just give to your average back street independent garage to service and repair like you can your 1.8 petrol 75 or derv ZT. Is this car known to the 260 crew on here ? |

For what it's worth to the discussion my 75 v8 auto is my daily driver. Had it a few years now. Servicing and general repairs done by a local garage/mechanic. So far running costs not dissimilar to previously owned v6s. Other than a couple of items (largely because of the limited production run) parts seem to be available. I imagine if something major failed it might be a bit of a problem, however that'll be true for most cars.

I was merely going on the fact the VED is eye watering, and the fuel economy on a 4.6ltr will be in the low twenties. Also that some suspension parts a NLA (front struts/shocks I believe) at the moment so don't really want to wear them out to quickly. And with the war on fossil fueled cars will only get more expensive to run as time goes on. |

I used my V8 400 ZTT almost every day. Banana was, and still is my show car.
On a good run the V8 would return 26mpg, not bad for a large car.

No bending required, caution is understandable. Apropos VED it's a pre-March 2006 registration so the tax is the same as any similarly aged car. Fuel consumption is comparable to a v6. Suspension and sub-frames are a potential issue I understand. As long as you are aware you're driving what is essentially a development vehicle having early release into the wild there's nothing to worry about(!). Although I'm content to use a local garage for general work I will use a specialist for anything that requires same. As a driving experience I think the v6 has the edge. Indeed I believe the v6 is one of, if not the, best drivers I have owned. I find my v8 a little unsettled on poorly maintained suburban road surfaces. However, it is a lovely high speed cruiser.
