Default Haynes Manual vs Disc

After much deliberation I have bought the MG Rover information disc from Rimmers covering Rover 75/MG ZT/MG ZT 260 /Rover V8...... with info on the workshop manuals\engine and gearbox specs and servicing\ wiring diagrams\technical bits and bobs.... all for £14.93 inc. vat and delivery, cheaper than the manual(ok,you're going to say £4.99 for manual on ebay)
but(second hand and probably grubby) I have already copied it all onto my memory stick, I can't re-save any documents(default option) so I can transfer them, but i can print then i can then scan and save. Unless I can find a way of activating the "save as" function.

Update.... Apparently it is Adobe Read only...... can't update it,paste from it, can't copy individual pages, but I did manage to transfer all of it to my 64gb memory stick

The MGR softback printed manual is terrible. It's £50 from Rimmer. https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-RP1012OE

Even at £40-odd I paid for one through Amazon, it's very poor value compared with the MGR RAVE CD (which the Club sells for around £10 I believe). And it's printed sideways, so you turn pages up and down and get a stiff neck trying to understand the equally poor diagrams. Anyway, the CD contains a lot of background info on principles of operation, etc. which are absent from the printed version. Not recommended.

Not seen the MGR one at that sort of price. Lots of cheap Haynes ones of course.

You can’t use a disc as a jacking pad though....which is about all the Haynes manual is useful for

I believe there are three errors in Haynes. The RAVE disk has far more. But having both is best I reckon.

EDIT: The official Xpart printed manual will wedge a wheel much better than a Haynes.

Three errors?

So based upon what do we say the RAVE manual is a poorer source of information than a Haynes manual.

Haynes manuals in general lost their way when they were dumbed down in the late '90s with "difficulty spanners" alongside the dubious technical information.

I was always a fan of Autodata repair manuals over Haynes, but factory workshop manuals always trump third party documentation in every respect.

I've used RAVE for quite a few years now, certainly before they became available for general sale, and found it to be the definitive resource when it comes to these cars.

And before anyone asks, no they were not pirated versions, but something as an official XPart supplier I was furnished

So, I've just bought a 2004 ZT T with the 2.5 V6 engine.
Is the disc going to be relevant to me for "home mechanic" type of jobs,
particularly tracing spurious alarms?
Thanks,
Malc

It does contain complete wiring diagrams for Rover 75/MG ZT/MG ZT 260

UPDATE..... Just been reading through the files and so far I have found 1,297 pages detailing the Workshop Service Manual MG ZT/Procedures for the Rover 75...... Now to find same said files for MG ZT /260/V8 god knows how many....
