Well I didn't do any work per se, but my genuine warning triangle set arrived from a chap on Facebook. £5 all in, very pleased with that! Waiting to here from Rick about a set of under bonnet mirror panels as well - desperately want those as I've been polishing and blinging, and possibly also getting some kick panels from Rick as mine are scuffed and look naff! march hoping to get the lacquer peel finally sorted and I will nearly be there with "Blue"

My neighbour our farmer popped round yesterday to drop off a rusty hunk of junk that vaguely resembled an exhaust back box found on the track from the farm. Strangely, when I checked under mine after the wife had rung with the news of the unusual delivery, i found that someone had mysteriously 'removed mine' and i hadnt even noticed!!
Suffice to say that I spent today removing the old pipework and painting the already purchased replacement with high temp spray paint prior to it going on tomorrow. Unfortunately I didnt take any photos of the old box but I was somewhat embarrassed to see the state it was in (support strap had rotted through also) and the fact that my neighbour automatically knew that it had come off my car!!

For the past few weeks I have been getting a bulb failure warning. Not for the burned out fog light which has been reliably burned out for a month, but every week or so the warning would come on the dash telling me that the sidelight was burned out...Then a day or so later the bulb would come back on and the warning would go away.

Last week the warning was on all week. No messing around, I decided to change both the fog light bulb and the sidelight bulb on Sunday. Sure enough, on Saturday the bulb came back on and the warning went off.

I changed the fog light bulb and joked to my wife that the warning would come back on Monday morning when I went to drive the car to work.

Sure enough it did.

I went down to the garage and changed the rotten thing in 10 minutes before dinner. Luckily I have a flex hose on the intake replacing the rotten old Shannon tube so I was able to move the filter box aside just enough to get my hand in to get at the bulb. Job done.

I wonder if it the warning light will be on tomorrow morning.-Evil car.

I sure love it!
Bumper off, headlight units out and check the wiring that runs over the chassis legs, particularly the section that is below the headlights.

Flew back into UK and Rotated the tyres, Front to rear. Tread is good on all but having done a few thou on them as I had the opportunity just thought why not. Then after the old girl having sat for 3 months drove from Hertfordshire to Portsmouth not seeing another 75 on the way. Gave it a shot of redex filled the tank and got on the ferry to St Malo and the next morning got off and drove for 7 hours down to the Dordogne. Even though it rained the whole way it was a great trip. I still surprises me that after a 7 hour drive only stopping for fuel and comfort breaks you get out of a 19 year old car and still feel fine. Today checked the oil and water and its not used any.

Got a second had window regulator as the drivers window had stopped working stripped the door, a job I really hate and discovered the “new” regulator was in worse condition than mine so after much cursing and tea breaks got mine going and lubericated with copper slip now works better than it ever has.

My 5 star security bits turned up after a week so swapped out the second duff maf for my final spare and got it checked by my tame mechanic glad to say this ones actually working as it should.

Returned home feeling smug but I’m sure she will throw another wobbly soon

Fitted this!

Just ordered a GPS antenna of Fleabay and she should be good to go. Nice touch I think, just need to find a manual for her to personalise a few bits and pieces as she was second hand buy from FB.
