Default My yellow Rover 75

I have owned my W reg Rover for a quite a few years now but I have never seen or passed another one in the same colour. Best described as custard yellow the paint code is FAH and officially its called primrose yellow. I have known the car from when it was almost new and belonged to a QC in Holborn in central London. Does anyone else have one in this colour? Google image throws up some images so there must be a few more about?

True story...it has an electric sunroof that has never opened, the original owners who I know said even Rover under warranty could never cure it so it remained closed to this day.

I know of one primrose yellow one in Lincolnshire that is on the road but needs a lot of tlc, they are very rare nowadays and usually suffer from paint fading from sunlight.

The Bonnet and boot have both faded on mine. No amount of polish will bring it back sadly. Some lacquer is peeling off too on the bonnet. It’s looking it’s age these days.

Not the end of the world, easily repainted should you wish, the important thing is that the car is still on the road.

I've seen a couple at meets in the past. One of my favourite colours on a '75 .

If I get a chance later in the day I'll see if I've got any photos kicking around

I adore the primrose cars, even more so than the old English white, and that's right up there for me! I almost bought a primrose, but it wanted so much work it was beyond me as I'd just had major surgery. That too had paint fade, but that wasn't what bothered me. It was using water and had mayo all under the cap. It was a V6, so I really wasn't sure what was going on. I often wonder if someone more skilled than myself took it on/what happened to it....

Have you any pics of your lovely machine?

Edited as I just found the car I looked at's reg, DVLA says vehicle details cannot be found, so it doesn't look good. Unless its had a revamp and a private reg.

Hi Dawn, try putting it into the Vehicle Smart site, even if it's scrapped the info will come up, but you can tell if it's gone as most of the information will be unavailable.

Trikey - Yes its very much on the road and drives lovely, it has done 77,000 and I enjoy using it at weekends. I spent £480 putting it through the 2018 MOT, the garage that do my MOT's thought I was slightly mad but they did a great job and it subsequently flew through the 2019 test.

Dawn - I do have a some photos but not sure how to upload them to here.

Ian G - Good too see there are a few more in the fold.
