Last week I picked up the silver saloon with its completely overhauled engine. Driving home was very enjoyable, everything works fine and smooth. I mounted the hairpins and the upper mesh grille and I washed, claybared, polished and waxed the whole car. It also got a complete interior care. I proudly present the temporary result:

The engine bay is still very dirty and looks uncommon with the LPG-installation:

It's been 3 months since your last update. How are things progressing?

Well, things are progressing slowly but steadily. Some paint damages removed as well as some small bodywork bumps. Real wood dash, electric sunblind and chrome door finishers mounted. Paintwork polished and waxed, leather and carpets cleaned and so on.

Have a look (and please note the sticker on the windscreen "Automobile Randgruppe" = "automotive marginalised group" ) :

In addition the car actually gets new bonnet struts (I had a powerful bonnet-skull-contact followed by an also powerful forehead-engine block-contact recently ... ) plus new lambda probes and next summer I`ll do a body-cavity sealing all around.

It's very nice, but I can't help feeling it needs a custom made, solid walnut gear selector. Know anyone who could make one .

A terrific looking car, a credit to you .

Those videos were a treat (seeing your lovely car out in the sunshine for one thing). Always good to be inspired by someone else's efforts.

Really? Who is that guy?
Anyway I made a walnut handbrake grip recently:

The colourmatch isn´t quite perfect yet but apart from that the result is fairly considerable, isn´t it?

Very nice result, great job. Now, how about a wallnut mid console arm rest? Würde es möglich sein?

Möglich schon. Würde aber das Vorhandensein einer Vakuumpresse voraussetzen, um Furnier formschlüssig mit dem gewölbten Unterbau zu verleimen (Yes, it´s possible. But only with the aid of a de-airing pugmill in order to glue a veneer on a curved substructure).
