I still like Vista which I hope to be able to continue to use for a few more years. Windows 10 I do have and could use but having tried it briefly some years ago it did not impress so it resides on a HDD in a cupboard. Windows 11 from what I've read might be compatible with Android apps to some degree so that might suit some. However its hardware requirements could be a big deterrent for many, read of some who have run the compatibility checker expecting a pass only to receive a rejection.

When I turned on my desktop this morning Linux Mint said there's a new OS available 'Uma 20.2 LTS'

It took eight minutes from start to finish to download & install, Runs bootiful & no problems

Still using Windows 7 and a couple of times a week get a pop up screen saying Windows 7 is no longer supported. What spay ware has been put on my computer that tells Mr Gates that I haven't bought the latest version of the Microsoft software and is it legal for him to spy on me????
All I realy need in life is the functions of a Psion 5mx, perhaps with a web browser rather than a FAX facility and that program was only some 8MB as opposed to the memory guzzling operating systems of today. Each update seems to take up more space; do they delete the old versions of the program they are updating?? All electrickery to me.

Yeah they seem to keep trying to fix what isn't broken, Win 10 is only supported until 2025. I haven't checked if my gaming PC on Win 10 Pro will benefit from a Win 11 upgrade If not then I don't need the hassle of worrying if it will go belly up like my last few desktops which had Win 7, It was the best OS Windows came out with.
Just upgraded the rest of my desktop PC's which are on Linux Mint Cinnamon Uma LTS 20.2 now, all upgraded with not a problem in less than ten minutes each.

now running on my 6 yr old PC .

does seem like its been just fiddled with in the graphics and desktop display.

Looks a bit more of a further dumbed down interface of win 10 task bar gone ..

But runs pretty quick ..

Will try it on an Old dual core PC to see what happens,

My point exactly, when you consider that almost everything around the world is actually run by a Linux based system of one form or another!

you can download a script file free from the microsoft server via .. UDUMP to make an installer ISO

Search for Windows 11

then select

Windows 11 Insider Preview 10.0.22000.65 (co_release) arm64

next.... then choose both editions next....
click on the download additional editions and convert to ISO
then click ....create download package

This will create a Zip file, download and unpack it in a folder .

Run the uup_download_windows.cmd and let it do the work

it will go to the MS servers and download the needed files
and create an ISO file to install with.
Takes a while to do it all..

Pop into the bios settings and have a look , will be in the. Boot section ..
TV
But this can all be bypassed by a using a modified Windows 10 Boot installer device a usb one is the easiest if you already have one of these you are almost there
