Of course as with everything for sale, online and elsewhere, potential buyers should use their judgement as to what is serviceable and what isn't.
I would think that anyone experienced enough to change a suspension arm should be able to recognise scrap when they see it, and if they take it to their garage to have it installed any mechanic worth his salt would refuse to fit the obvious MOT failure part. When I clicked on the ebay link a list of several other rear arms came up, all nice, shiny and new and for not much more money. I would guess that this seller's ad has sold quite a few X-Part and other new arms. The seller is the mug.

I've messaged the seller about the rear arm and those backplates highlighting what a load of balls they are and questioning whether someone there is trying to get into the circus.
Let's see if there's a sensible response... |

Advertised as "good condition". Looks like the tin moths have been having a feast on it. The irony is that the handbrake shoe pins will pull straight through, so they are really as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike. It is a reasonable assertion that the seller knows these parts would compromise the safety of the vehicle they are fitted to. Will Ebay do anything about it? I doubt it.

If you get a response I doubt if you'd be able to post it here, not without smoke coming off the language filter.

I actually got a response from the seller and there wasn't a profound word in sight. Amazing really as my message to them was extremely sarcastic.

Perhaps I should break it to them that there's a lovely supplier called DMGRS that makes their entire statement and all their efforts with these listings a waste of time? |

I've just this minute logged into DMGRS to order an upper an lower arm, as mine need replacing as the bushes are shot.
Having seen the state of this beauty I've probably another 30k left in mine accordioning to their description. I'm surprised they aren't selling it with a complimentary tin of Hammerite. It's at least reassuring to know they throw away the arms in worse condition |

Fair play to him for managing to get the handbrake cable out, but I have taken off better and binned them!

I just can't be bothered to hunt around to save a few ££'s for spares from some random outfit on eBay.
I just ask Mickyboy or DMGRS. Never had an issue with either of them and I'm sure that if there was it'd be sorted without any grief. You pays your money and takes your choice. As for Trading Standards many moons ago they'd have been having a field day with stuff like this but now they just won't have the "resources" to do anything even if they want to, which they would love to do.
