The fuel tank doesn’t need removing to change the fuel pump, their pricing seems way too high and given that wouldn’t be too happy with their diagnosis.
If that were me I would be looking for another garage who know what they are working on!
Hope that helps, Paul.

Where in Essex do you live?
Kevin in Wickford is definitely the man to see if you can get your car there.

Agree with bsafly - if the garage say the tank has to come out then bye.

Any code reader? Lift the rear seat, on your driver's side is the fuel pump, try starting - any hum from the pump? No, then disconnect the multi-plug, find a black (earth) cable, and the white purple (plus) cable, apply power directly to the corresponding pins, does it now operate (hum)?

Good luck

No Paul, as the earlier replies have said it's absolute rubbish. Recover your car from that establishment immediately!

Is this your dealer launch KV6? If so, the fuel pump rarely gives trouble. A failure to operate during cranking is more likely to be the crankshaft position sensor. If the pump does operate during cranking but the car won't fire, suspect the camshaft position sensor or a poor connection to it (I had this recently).

What was the original reason for recovery? If "not starting", descrbe how you, or the recoverers tried, i.e. Any ignition, any lights?
