The crash sensors are located under the carpet. You need to remove the seats though to get in properly. Not too bad a task, and at the same time you can sort out the under seat connectors for good. This will save you having to re-configure the vehicle with T4 later on if you swap ecu out. Last edited by Lovel; 11th March 2017 at 08:34.. |

Will cost you nothing to try it. If you have ordered another ECU you will have to recode with T4 anyway, so better try and get your original ECU working first IMO. On the other hand last week when fault finding on a car, I found that T4 would not talk to the airbag ECU, the DDE4 ECM, and Immobiliser fitted to the car did not match the original build and. The car had to be completely reconfigured using the replacement ECU's in order to talk with the Airbag ECU. Once coded with T4 was perfect comms from then on. i tried disconnecting the crash sensors(bone dry by the way)and still no ecu read so i changed the ecu for my £8.75p ebay ecu and got a read showing 8 fault codes consistent with all the things i had not refitted...i put it all back using electric contact cleaner and cable tying all the plugs and no fault codes now and the airbag light is off.

Trying to find an article with photographs for Crash sensor replacement
I have used Search to search for information on how to locate and remove the drivers side (UK ) side crash sensor as my tool is saying there is a problem with it.
Search does not bring up any information on this procedure. I find the forum quite difficult to use as a newbie. What am I doing wrong? Thanks |

However I don't think you'll need any photographs. RAVE makes it sound straightforward:
When refitting, the Torx bolt is tightened to 10 Nm and there must not be any gap between the component and its bracket. The front seat belt fixing is tightened to 33 Nm. Simon
