Also, the instructions that came with the kit are not very clear, is there any thing/anywhere on the forum that would help me how to refurbish the pump? thanks a lot and best regards, Adam |

99.9% of the time those large green O-rings are ok, one on the HPFP needed them changing so i purchased one of these sets as well which gave me some extra O-rings https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/233407740819

I bought an HPFP on ebay and reconditioned it yesterday and I am to fit it today or tomorrow. Two quick questions 1. The repair kit (https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/152054575...4AAOSwIzNXPf-p) came with the Rounded seals, but I didn't find the palce to fit them? Are they spare or? 2. The pump itself can have different "position" as it can turn. I opened the HPFP to see if the "yellow/green" o-rings need to be replace - they are fine as suggested. And then I put it back, but I noticed that I can put it back in different positions. Does it mattar in which position I fit it in? The Engine will be locked and I assume it does not matter in which position the pump/valve will be in when fitted. But please confirm thank you very much, Adam |

yes the round seals are extra for another type of HPFP now it does not mater how you put the pump shaft back in but always best the the same way if possible. So you purchased an extra HPFP off ebay then serviced that, you could have bought one from me already done but at least you have an extra one now which you can service

Thanks a lot for your message and the information. I thought so about the extra seals and the pump shaft - so all good. Although I am not sure if I assembled the covers correctly as I can see a small gap that I can put a razor blade - see the photo below. I believe it is either correct or because the new seals are a bit thicker. Could you please advise. Could you also advise what would be the price for a recondition pump form you. I am not sure why I didn't ask this before as I would have rather bought from you |

I have sent you a PM with regards to the gap between the head and the body of the HPFP, if you notice that even before you removed and replaced the seals that gap was already there. On my refurbished ones i did not like that, as was in the thought of mind that could be the cause of the rust between the two faces ? so i did them up a little tighter to close the gap, right or wrong ? but at least i now can not see light through the gap, i also paint sprayed each pump, either in silver or grey.

The engine started, and stopped a few times, but now all is okay. But I have impression that the car is more juicy now, I did about 100 miles and I also had a black smoke today at some point when going up the hill when I pressed hard(er). Could it be that the "new" HPFP is pumping too much fuel??? Also, when I took the plug out to lock the engine, the plug just came apart - it was way too old !!! I am tying to find a new one (replacement) online but I have no idea how it's called? Any help here? Here are a few photos from the "adventure"!
