I think providing a link via a public platform is different from embedding the hosted file within the public platform. Google provide all the linking systems you might want except that one. There are now services appearing that purport to enable you to embed images stored on Google Photos. Seems they don't all work - or maybe Google quickly circumvents them. Photobucket did so and began charging for the sevice. The old Photobucket 'fix' for forums no longer works either.

EDIT: Referring to the missing image, the note I referred to says:
To ensure optimum engine performance, oils used for topping up and refilling the engine must match the minimum ACEA specifications shown in the table (eg. ACEA A3 oils can be used in place of ACEA A2 oils, but oils of a lower numerical value must NEVER be used.

EDIT 2: It seems Google also prohibits you from embedding hosted images into a public forum. However,I just found a new way to get it to work. So, does my original Post 5 above now show the image?

I can see it, but only after editing the Imgur link by adding the .jpg file extension. None of their 'Get Share' links seem to work for me, including the 'BBCode (Forums)' option. - I use this forum's message tool to add images -

I can see it ok, when i upload photo with imgur i use the large thumbnail for the best size, then click BBCode(message boards & forums) then right click and paste on here, it seems you are using the club icon not going direct through imgur.

I must have a t least 150 albums on there with at least 40 photos minimum in each album, some have over 100 photos in one album.

I've posted hundreds of images straight from my computer. Never used a Host.----When you do you are at their mercy.---

Thanks guys, at least I have some way to do it. I'm a less prolific picture poster these days, so I'll make do OK.
