Some token restrictions for now, we’ll see how this develops.

Watch this pace! (Yes! I did spell that correctly!) Until travel is seriously policed and enforced it won't stop spreading.

I listened very carefully to the SA GP who first spotted the new variant dubbed 'Omicron' (sounds like a Marvel Universe character ).
She stated the presenting symptoms were slightly different and she could easily have missed them. Less likely to have lost sense of taste or smell was mentioned. Also mentioned was that she was at the epicentre of the outbreak and so far it seemed milder with no serious cases needing hospitalisation.
Variants and mutations do usually become less serious rather than more serious from everything that I've read. Time will tell of course.
If you have been triple jabbed, take proper care of your own precautions and you'll be fine.

My daughter has tested positive, thankfully it seems to be a mild dose. She wasn't going to have the vaccine but decided to do so on the spur of the moment. Although a mild case it has floored her, without the vaccine it may have been a lot worse

I’m afraid we need more official restrictions, not just someone breaking ranks with stricter advice. Come on Boris.

Personally I have no time for Boris, his advice changes with the wind direction and whenever expert advice is "inconvenient" he ignores it. Case in point was expert advice to limit contacts due to the new variant which Boris responded to by saying carry on as normal.

I'm afraid he has no idea what to do. Neither do any of the motley crew around him. They all look terrified.

Yesterday I was turned away at the vaccination walk for the 3rd vaccination. I was told I have to wait for the full 6 months in 8 days time before I can have the booster. When I cited the government directive for those eligible after 3 months from jab 2, I was told because nothing had filtered down from government about the directive, I would have to wait the 6 months. I don’t blame the vetting staff on the front line for turning me away as they are not the ones at fault.

Sorry to hear that, I would have thought a week earlier would not make a difference for a booster, think when I got my Booster I was a few days earlier than the six months but it was the date the NHS gave me.

I would think one of the reasons is about supply. Wether from the manufacturer, distribution point of actual vac site. i.e. if not ordered from distribution site to vac site. I don't think they request extras but may have a few available from non-attendees!
