Duraflex front arm bushes

Hi all
Anyone have any experience of the red Duraflex bushes from eBay? Just wondering which way round and should they be greased?

The PowerFlex system was widely liked, but I've never read of anyone using the Duraflex type. Of the two I think I'd prefer the PowerFlex ones. I don't believe the Duraflex dsign requires grease. They're basically a solid PU version of the rubber type.

I fitted Powerflex to my car 8000 miles ago and can I only praise them. The handling seems a little sharper and the ride if anything seems better.

No lubricant just fit them dry and enjoy.

The only problem you might have is if the arms are non genuine they can be a bit tight to fit. A file to reduce the burs and you will be fine.

I fitted one.. had to use the press to fit it in the housing, then again to fit it on to the new arm. It'll be coming off soon and genuine Rover ones will be going on..they are very hard and on Serpents,the ride quality isn't very 75.There is no give in them at all.

Thats them, was a mistake..real NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD-NAUGHTY WORD- to fit too. Have been very happy with Powerflex stuff in the past, but that was on "sportier" cars..

No, I mean I've used polybushes in the past and have liked them, tried these ones but wished I hadn't. Not tried Powerflex on the 75 so can't comment on those, but they look FAR easier to fit. Get what you pay for I suppose.

The PowerFlex design is much better in principle IMO, in that it's a simple 'bearing' design that doesn't rely on any degree of rotational flexure. The OEM rubber system has both rotational and lateral flexure, which some say is essential to the drive quality. The PowerFlex has a greater lateral resistance that seems to be sufficient for compromising comfort with improved precision. Although very popular and followed with a deal of enthusiasm on the forums, relatively little fedback/update has been reported. What bit there is seems very positive about PowerFlex. Duraflex just look wrong IMO and reflect the troubles of the prototype Lower Tie Bar bushes that PowerFlex failed miserably with.
