Default Paint damage

Just wondering, do you guys get damage to your paintwork magically appear? I garage the car and am really careful where I park, but after getting it out to use a few days before it goes for bumper repairs due to lacquer peel, I noticed a lot of dings/scuffs that hadn't been there. I'm getting as much done as I can but I don't know where it all happened even!

A friend at work had a new Beemer 3 weeks and he has the same issue and put it down to stuff in the winds but mine wasn't even out!

They just appear like magic !

I picked up a scuff on a rear door from a flying wheelie bin lid a few days ago!

I swear there's a new scratch on mine every time I give it a good clean.

I've never damaged it myself so I can only presume it's being done by people in car parks etc.

Park as far away from the riff raff as possible as most people just don't care.

I think it is stuff like - handbags with chains / metal bits swinging off them, coats with metal zips and such like, jeans with metal press on studs. And as said, people not caring as they walk past too close, brushing your car.

Got a u shaped scratch on my passenger window on my other car. How the heck it got there ... No other damage to the paint that side ...

Even just washing your car can put minor scratches on the paintwork. Just one small trapped bit of grit in your sponge/washmitt or whatever can cause a lot of damage. A friend of mine, who was very particular when it came to car care, used to was using the two bucket method and chamois dry. He used a new leather....didn't see the staple in it.
