Default Duotone for Sale on eBay

I know some folk like a duotone, there is what I think is an original on ebay. A poverty spec model.

It is nothing to do with me, and if anyone was interested, be wary. I think it is overpriced - not because of the car (the price is fine for the car), but because of the write up and the images (nothing in particular, just a feeling I got), example 'VERY NICE UNDER THE BONNET' then a low angle shot with the bonnet open? The write up from another car also sent alarm bells £3k for a Merc with lights on and issues - that apparently are inexpensive and easy to sort (why not fix them?), but is claiming not to be able to give a warranty (too bad for consumer rights ).

Normally I wouldnt post an ad for a dealer that would give me these alarm bells, but these are our cars (and we know the issues and how to sort them), it is low mileage and it is a rare desirable colour.

Maybe approach them, make a lower offer, and justify with potential HGF (lol) risks especially in such a low mileage and timing belt costs (again lol). Obviously check rust areas too, there are a few dings around. But could be a low mileage diesel for someone. The ad is HERE

Not really a fan of duotones, but this is one of the better combinations. Don't understand why the first owner would spent extra on the paintwork but only have the poverty model.

Is it a genuine duotone? Seems odd that the sills are silver but not the lower trim on the front/rear bumper to keep the line and the cutout on the rear bumper?
Not the best MOT history either.

I wondered that as well. It's unusual to see the darker colour on the bottom half, though I understand there are exceptions. I also thought the front grill would have the lower colour.

It does look suspicious, but I did think I read some were painted like that, but I really dont know. The seller does say that it is a dealer spray job. (The waist rails are also painted). U was thinking that it may have been a showroom model to attract attention, hence the low spec.

It’s not a genuine one, registered as starlight silver.

Sills and bottom of boot lid, along with bumpers are supposed to be the same colour, and the cut line for the paint is through the centre line of the waist trim.

There is only one colour combination where the bottom colour is darker than the top.......the paint code is YAI and the individual colours are for the bottom IAQ and the top MCN.
