Mg zt 260 lhd
Hi all
I'm very interesed in buying a MG ZT 260 to join my very lonely Rover 75 V8 Tourer in the garage. In Switzerland we never got the MK 1 cars, so I'm not to shore what is original or not. I spotted a LHD ZT 260 in Germany that would be worth a look at. But before I travel 500km I have some qustions about that car, especially concering the trim level and the wheels. As you can see, the car has hairpin alloys on it. Are these original on a MK 1 car? I thought that leather was standard on the V8's but this one has cloth?? What about cruise and traction control? Did you get that on the MK1 cars? Thank's for any info's Matt

And remove the hairpins, they were not fitted due to not being strong enough for a V8!!!

Thank's for the info. What kind of wheels would have been fitted from new? Straights like on the V6?

It's difficult to tell from the pictures, but AFAIK no ZT seats ever came in cloth. The "base" seats were these vinyl (not leather!) ones...
The cloth seats look to be from a Rover 75 (note the different design and style) No V8 came with Hairpins as they weren't "approved" with them on - but theres never been any evidence they weren't strong enough, just that they didn't bother getting them approved for a "different" car. |

Yes, straights were the correct fitted wheel.

If it's the car I'm thinking of, it was a very early development car and it did actually leave the factory with that interior, which I believe are Club SE spec seats!
There's a more complete of LHD cars for sale here! http://forums.75-zt.com/viewtopic.php?f=110&t=4147 Last edited by MrDoodles; 10th January 2014 at 13:07.. |
