Yes that would have failed the if you had not left the engine under tray on, as that was the only reason he could not see it, or test it, did he give you advisory for the under tray ? some do. What mount did you replace it with do you have a link or ebay number for it, also would you be so kind as to let us know how long it lasts, maybe check it again in 3 months to 6 months time.

These things are sent to try us, but this will the last time I fit these parts, they are simply more trouble than they are worth |

re engine mount
Hello Arctic
The advisory was for a nearside rear slightly pitted brake line, I will also keep an eye on how long it lasts, being a sedate driver it should last a while I hope. The link for the mount hope it works for you I ordered on Thur afternoon click and collect from argos next day which was quite quick https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rover-75-...t/122166671960 |

I was using the extension as I had limited space due to the six sided socket Bri, a little heat soon had the rusty bolts moving.

Good stuff, I hate that job.........fortunately new strut top bearings were a breeze if a bit heavy with no driveshafts, subframe, bottom arms, track rod ends etc.

I have one more rear arm bush to fit, then a pair of front anti roll bar rubbers then the car can return to its owner

I'm currently waiting of the second coat of paint drying on the rear arms, the cavity wax is on a radiator warming through, and the shultz gun is cleaned and ready. It has to be boxed up tonight, there is a more pressing case in Typhoon requiring ramp time for tomorrow |

Did my key arrive in (relatively) one piece Brian? Spare is a bit lazy. Think I need to try new battery!
Fitted a nice but not original rubber boot mat today. Need to give underneath a better once over tomorrow but its not going to get sorted until Spring now as I only have normal ramps and weather is against me outdoors. Too many niggles at wrong time of year! |
