This is a good idea and if it can be organised great but there is one 'but' that I have to say for everyones benefit including the club.
If its organised it must be stressed that it is not an official club organised thing as it brings into the question of public liability insurance. To have it an official thing the bill to the club would be huge and we just can't afford it. Just for any static events where we can't come under the cover of the 'host' venue like Beaulieu/Eden camp would cost us nearly £400 per year. We are lucky as we are choosing events with their own PLI. For a rolling road event which is what this would be if we gave it the 'official go ahead' the bill would go through the roof. As I said a great idea but not one that the club could become involved in as an official organisor. Sorry if I have put any dampeners on it but better to say now than to leave it Ken |

Also agreed Ken. I understand entirely about the liabilty and insurance and I for one do not mind it being unofficial and organised through ourselves only.

Thanks to everyone for the input on this....Concerns duly noted...
I will still raise this again a little closer to the date and clarify approximate meeting places for 'friends' to meet up ready for the unofficial convoy. This will be a purely for owners to meet up and drive in a law abiding manner towards our official meeting at Haynes. As mentioned earlier, maybe the best way for us to do it is to meet enroute at various refreshment establishments. Those interested can PM me closer to the day Jamie
